Having had the privilege of learning from and playing with Brazilian musicians over the years (among them the great João Bosco), I have always loved the music of this beautiful country.
From the very first melody and chord fragments I wrote for this tune, I was instantly reminded of the Brazilian fusion I grew up listening to, so I finished the song with that vibe in mind.
It is my personal tribute to the musicians who have inspired me and so many others around the globe.
On a very personal note, the cover art was inspired by a wonderful road trip I took through Brazil in the 90s with my Brazilian “brother” and great musician, Rogerio Jardim (yes, that’s him sitting in the back!).
We visited his lovely family in Goiânia and drove all the way to the coast and back—an experience that deepened my love for the country, its people, and its amazing culture.
This song is my way of telling my personal Brazilian story.
“Eu Te Falo”… which translates to “I tell you”!
